Sara and Neil kindly lent us their vibrating chair so that we could check it out.
She seemed to dig it, so we went in search of a chair of our own knowing that they would be needing theirs back at some point soon. We settled on ”The Pod.”
It vibrates, it sings, you can hook up your ipod to it so you don’t have to listen to the three synthesized lullabies that grate on your nerves. And it has a sun shade, which comes in handy when napping and will surely be useful when the landscaping is finished! She really likes it as evidenced by this happy face…
…and it kind of reminds me of Mork’s spaceship. “Na-Nu Na-Nu!”
Abby and I were over at Alta Bates Hospital helping Sara and Neil pack up to go home after an 8 1/2 week stay on monitoring and bed rest! They are nearly at 35 weeks. We’re hoping the babes hang out a little longer, but are thrilled that they’ve mae it this far tucked neatly inside.
And wouldn’t you know it, on their way out of the hospital, they ran into ShisoMama doing the labor walk down the hall. Looks like ‘Otisina’ will be making an appearance very soon!
Oh and Abby is 9 weeks old today! She’s got the social smile down pat which is very endearing.
I randomly put the mobile from the pack and play on her changing table and she LOVES it. She’ll talk to those bears and kick her legs to no end. Friends of ours call watching babies “Amish TV.” Here you have it, Abby style:

Yesterday was also my birthday so I experienced a double whammy. Jack woke me up with a “Happy Birthday Mama” and some presents. Then he and K went out for a frolic at the Children’s Museum in Sausalito. This awesome hands-on toddler museum located practically at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge has become a family fave. Having celebrated my birthday in adult style the evening before (K and I had dinner at a yummy newish restaurant downtown called Flora sans kiddies!), Jack and K left Abby and I to our own devices which turned into a very lazy morning eating truffles (birthday present) and watching the first season of Ugly Betty on DVD. Later in the day, the family went for ice cream at Fentons (another fave). Aside from Jack boycotting his afternoon nap (hence the trip to Fentons), it was a relaxing day overall. Thanks for all the phone calls and emails from well wishers! I’m endeavoring a response to all.
